Hi Everyone, I’m Jordenne Burns, your 2015 Redding Rodeo Queen. Horses have always been and will always be a big part of my life, I started out showing Western pleasure, and then when my family moved to Placerville 9 years ago, I joined District 3 High School Rodeo. I competed in barrel racing and pole bending, and had so much fun. Whereas, my family and I attended rodeos on a regular basis, now I was actually participating. I loved it! This was a great experience. The opportunity to make lasting friendships, promote High School Rodeo, and educate my fellow classmates on the sport of rodeo was an unforgettable opportunity.

While in high school I was a member of FFA for four years. I raised market hogs and my last two years I managed the floral program. In addition to FFA, I ran track for two years, was a member of the cheerleading squad, and was selected to serve as a High School Ambassador. The High School Ambassador committee was a group that met monthly to discuss diversity at our school and how to approach and stop bullying, which is a growing problem in all schools.

When I’m not involved with my horses and horse-related activities I enjoy yoga, gardening, cooking, working out, and designing some of my own clothes. I currently attend Folsom Lake College and I plan to transfer to a State college next year to pursue a
degree in business, hopefully using my background to assist me in working in the western fashion world.

I have always loved the sport of rodeo, even more so after participating for three years in High School Rodeo, and having the opportunity to travel to many of the California rodeos. Rodeo has shown me how it encourages family values through the atmosphere and competition. I am so proud to be representing
Redding Rodeo, and welcome you all to the 67th annual Redding Rodeo, and the 3rd Challenge of Champions.
So sit back, smell the popcorn, enjoy that tri-tip, and see those flags waving, it’s Rodeo time!!!!
