Redding Rodeo

2008 rwra captain - tami baker(1)

Hello Redding Rodeo Fans, Welcome to our 65th Annual Rodeo, sit back and enjoy our show… My name is Tami Baker, the 2013 Captain of the Redding Women’s Rodeo Association (RWRA). I have been an RWRA member since 1996, a past captain in 2008, 2007, 2004 and 2001, I am the Captain of the Sponsor Flag Team and have been carring sponsor flags since 1993, a member of the Miss Redding Rodeo Committee since 1996. As you see I keep pretty busy with my Redding Rodeo family and I must say It is a great honor to be the RWRA Captain with a membership of approximately 50 women who are devoted to promoting the western lifestyle and who consider each other and our affiliated Redding Rodeo associations as family. The RWRA Drill Team will be performing each night at our very own Redding Rodeo and showing off all that sparkle at parades. In past years The RWRA Drill Team has performed at Cottonwood, Fortuna and Yreka to name a few. These ladies put many hours and dedication into making the drill team successful. Sandi Anderson is our Drill Master and I would like to say “Thank You” for her guidance and support. The RWRA also hosts tack swaps, trail rides, concessions at our rodeo and we support community events. For fun, I enjoy, anything and everything that involves horses, carrying sponsor flags, riding in the mountains, gathering cattle and learning all I can about cutting. I do a few other hobbies that I can’t forget, Nascar and Shopping! My family is very important to me, my husband Duane supports me in all that I do and I am also blessed with two sons Chance and Will. Thank you Duane, Chance and Will for all your support this past year! Love Ya!! I would like to thank the RWRA for all their hard work, support and dedication during my year as captain, I could not have done it with you! It has been a pleasure working with our affiliated clubs, The Redding Rodeo Association, Auxiliary and Junior’s. Lastly, I would like to “THANK YOU” for attending our 65th Anniversary of Redding Rodeo. Happy Trails… Tami Baker, RWRA Captain
