Hello! My name is Jayden Byrne and I am so honored to be your 2016 Miss Redding Rodeo! I remember being that little girl at the Redding Rodeo 10 short years ago and looking up to the rodeo queen with such awe and amazement. I aspired to be her one day. That was the day my rodeo queen journey began. I am now 18 years old and have reached that goal. I have a passion for rodeo and the western way of life like no other! I am an avid barrel racer and plan to compete in rodeo my entire life. I am truly so blessed to live the life I do and am so thankful that rodeo is such a big part of it.
Ever since I can remember, I have always had a love for horses. But, it was when I was 10 years old that I decided I really wanted to experience it firsthand after learning that my mother grew up on a ranch in Whitmore. I took my first riding lesson and the rest is history. I started out by going to sortings in Red Bluff. Then, I found my love for barrel racing. I competed all 4 years in the California High School Rodeo Association, District 1, in barrel racing and pole bending.
I attend Shasta College and am pursuing a degree in communications. I would love to work in the western or sports industry. My experience as Miss Redding Rodeo so far has helped me greatly in my public speaking and relation skills. I look forward to being a role model and inspiration to people of all ages.
As Miss Redding Rodeo, I want to educate, inspire, and most importantly, share my passion for the amazing sport of rodeo with the great city of Redding, which I am so blessed to call my home. Not being involved with rodeo my whole life, I have personally witnessed what an impact the sport can have on a person. The western way of life is contagious! It teaches hard work, determination, patience, compassion, and strong family values. To be an ambassador for such things is an absolute honor. I believe rodeo queens are the best advocates and I aspire to be nothing short of that during my reign. I want to show the public that rodeo queens are more than just glam, glitz, and glitter. I am so excited to serve the community and lay a path for future generations of cowboys and cowgirls. What a privilege it is to promote and support the north state all while sharing my passion and love for rodeo with the people of my hometown and all who I come in contact with. The western way of life has shaped me into the person I am today and I hope to help it do the same for others as Miss Redding Rodeo.
Thank you so much for all the support,
Miss Redding Rodeo 2016,
